“Painting with musical colours”. Stan Forebee is all about jazz. Growing up in a musical family in The Netherlands, Stan (real name Bastiaan van der Vlist) was spoon fed with music and learnt to play the piano at a young age. Classical music to begin with, then jazz when he got older. While developing his passion for composing music, his writing soon became influenced by hiphop, neo-soul and other contemporary music, inspired by artists like Flying Lotus, J Dilla, Radiohead & Bibio. Stan developed a greater passion for creating electronic music & beats, combining his classical music background with modern producing techniques as a backbone to his work.
